Mark, Diane, Madison and McKenna in Hawaii!

The magic of air travel is that you can start out in the everyday, of say, Missouri, and when the doors open to a paradise like Hawaii, you just have to nearly pinch yourself to believe you're really there!  Mark and Diane came with their daughters to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary and asked me to take photos to help them remember what a special time they had together on this beautiful island.

The setting is Anaeho'omalu Bay on the Kohala Coast.

She said YES!!

Kyle first wrote me in April about a photo session.  This one was to be a really special one: he wanted to propose to Sarah while the camera was getting it all in!  He was probably more nervous than I, but I sure wanted to get it right for this "once in a lifetime" moment.

They flew out from the Toronto area, and we got together at the appointed time at the beautiful Anaeho'omalu Bay (we all call it "A Bay") in the Waikoloa Resort.  Kyle and I had a signal for when the moment would arrive.  He got down on one knee, and.....she said YES!!

Thanks, Kyle, for asking me to be part of the history of your lives together.  Many blessings for your years ahead!

Dan and Cyndie

I got an email response from my website on a Tuesday, wondering if I could do wedding portraits that Saturday!  Talk about calling it close!  Happily for all, my day was open, so I met Dan and Cyndie at the beach and had a wonderful time with them.  They had come to Kona all the way from Wisconsin with the original plan to be married here.  But plans sometimes change, and theirs did.  So while the wedding wasn't here, Hawaii will always have a special place in their memory.

Blessings on your marriage!!

Mimi's Getting Married!!

I have known Mimi since, well.....a long time!  She used to be sitting in the back seat of the car pool to school along with my boys!  A number of years later, we worked together in the Communications Department at University of the Nations, Kona Campus.  She's not only a gifted photographer, but a great graphic designer too.  But that's getting away from my story....

And that is, Mimi's getting married next month!!  She has found her life's love in Mr. Jon Brown of England.  They are going to have adventures galore as they travel the globe, and we will miss her.  On Sunday, her sister Stephanie hostessed a bunch of us at their mom, Krista's, house for the best bridal shower I've ever been to!  I went as a guest, but brought my camera along for the ride.

Catering by Liah Harpster  and Magic Pan crepes; Florals by Annie of Bliss in Bloom.

Love you, Mimi!

Louis and Megan Got Married!

Love was in the air at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort!  Louis and Megan and their sons traveled from Seattle to exchange vows and rings at their seaside wedding.  The heartfelt love between the family and friends, along with the excitement of the beginning of a new day brought tears to my eyes!

The wedding coordination by Natalie along with the rest of the caring Sheraton staff, and the stunning florals by Annie of Bliss In Bloom and Wedding Cake by Lynn of Coffee 'n Epicurea made the day one to remember!

Jon and Jenn

It's been nearly two years that we've been wanting to get with Jon and Jenn.  We've bumped into each other in unexpected places, but never got anything nailed down.  So, while I was in Singapore, I got an email saying that they're almost finished with their first CD, We Will Not Be Silent, and need some photography for it.  Fun!!  Just one thing....Jennifer's seven months pregnant and didn't want to look like it!

So, off we go the the Old Airport State Beach Park here in Kona, to hang out in the tall grasses.  And then I just HAD to celebrate with them that there is a new little one on the way.  Back home after a relaxed dinner at sunset, we had some studio headshot time.  A fun evening, a wonderful CD. Congratulations, Jon and Jenn!
